Teen Board Projects & Events

• Every December the Teen Board gather donations to purchase gifts for Mosaic clients aged 3-13. Pre-holiday the Board meets to wrap gifts and play elves to the Mosaic community. In 2020 the Board emailed gift cards to clients when in-person giving was not possible due to the pandemic.
  

 

• The Teen Board has organized events for Mosaic’s 5K finales that get the entire Mosaic family - “Moving for Mosaic.” In 2020 Grammy Award Winner, H.E.R. performed for attendees along with a bootcamp workout with Yakuv from AARMY. For 2021, yoga expert, Kari Harendorf, provided the group with a yoga workout to alleviate stress and any 5K muscle aches.

• The Teen Board conducts an annual Backpack Drive every September providing schools supplies to families in need. The Board fundraises for donation, purchases and assembles all of the backpacks for Mosaic’s young clients. The backpacks are then distributed at Mosaic headquarters in Riverdale. For 2020 and 2021 the group met in the open air of the parking lot providing pizza and goodie bags to parents along with school supplies. 

Looking Ahead

• As Spring 2022 approaches, the Teen Board will get their hands dirty, creating an organic garden at Mosaic’s Crisis Residence for guests to enjoy.
